According to a report of Bloomberg on October 6th, Australia will soon replace Qatar to become the world's largest exporter of liquefied natural gas as a group of new projects approached the completion.

According to the Australian national industry, innovation and science department's report, it is estimated that by June 2019, the annual export volume of liquefied natural gas in Australia will increase from 52.2 million tons to 74 million tons, equal to that of the Middle East. The Australian liquefied natural gas export increment will come from Wheatstone liquefied natural gas project of Chevron starting in Western Australia, Ichthys liquefied natural gas project of Inpex company in northern territory which is planned to put into operation in 2018 and the floating liquefied natural gas project of Royal Dutch Sell Plc. . Bloomberg new energy finance forecasts that the export capacity of Australia will surpass Qatar in 2018.
